I remember growing up in the 80s (yep, the 1980s). My dad had a growing and fruitful business. I can remember being in his office and seeing them smack dab on the top of his desk. Lists. He had 2 lists, both weekly, one for home and one for business. He saw them as his achievements. No matter how small a task was, there was a certain satisfaction to crossing it off the list. I remember going into his office on Saturdays and looking at the lists. Was everything always crossed off? Nope, but the lists were always close to being completed. It took me longer than it should have but I have carried on the tradition. We live in a world where there are 20+ apps that I could download on my phone that will handle all of my list needs and more. So have I automated my lists? Nope. It is hard to describe the wonderful feeling of taking a pen and crossing off a completed task. Simple but rewarding.
